Most human suffering comes about as a result of a mistaken self identity. The materialists and scientists of our age have permeated our mainstream culture with the ideas that we are nothing more than flesh and bone. A freak accident in the random affairs of evolution...a physical being, and nothing more.
The great spiritual masters throughout the ages have taught that we are not just what we see reflected in the mirror. The enlightened teachers from all ages and cultures have taught us that we are more more than just our physical body and that our being is composed of multiple layers or dimensions known by the ancient vedics as the five koshas. Yoga is the process of moving our awareness through the koshas one at a time until we reach the essence of our being, unbounded infinite consciousness.
Christopher Sartain has been practicing Yoga since 2001 and has taught Yoga and meditation since 2007. Christopher received his Yoga Alliance Teaching Certification through Peachtree Yoga Center in Atlanta, GA and his Ayurveda Certificate through the American Institute of Vedic Studies in Santa Fe, NM.
He learned the ancient techniques of Kriya Yoga with Roy Eugene Davis, a living direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda. Christopher was ordained a teacher/minister in the tradition by Mr. Davis in July 2012. He currently leads Yoga Alliance Teacher Trainings and meditation retreats in Santiago, Chile where he and his wife now live. Chris has a Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia, a Masters degree in education, and a Specialists degree in gifted and talented education.
